Podium results at Midwest Nats for Anderson.

Congrats to CBR's Dane Anderson chalking up some great results over the weekend at the Midwest Nationals in Rockford USA!

The Rockford Bmx track has the reputation of being one of best maintained and fastest tracks on the USA BMX circuit which always seems to bring extreme humidity and rain. This year was no exception. Thursday Practice: The track is one of the fastest tracks I have ever ridden. The only issue I had was adjusting the speed entering/exiting the asphalt turns. Friday: Midwest National pre-title event: Today I only entered cruiser class to ensure that I didn't burn myself out before Saturday and Sunday's racing. I used the race as a warm-up, where I was able to roll away for the win. My laps were clean, consistent, and confidence was built up for a solid performance for the weekends racing. Saturday: Due to missing registration, I was unable to race on this day. Sunday: I entered 28-35x, 31-35 Cruiser and 31+ open. The weather was a hot 95, and 80% humidity. First round of qualifying saw me transfer out with a win in open and cruiser, and then took a second in 28-35x to qualify for the semi. I had a solid start and slipped in for a tight 4th into the 1st turn, and held that position until the last straight, where I got a little squirrely, and got pipped on the line in a photo finish, placing 5th. The final in 31+ open had me leading the race until the last turn where another rider pulled a very tight low/high and rode me wide, where I had to ride the White line nipping at the heels of first place to the finish where I placed 2nd. In the cruiser final I had a great start and put together a smooth lap where I led the race from start to finish. Next event is South Park, Pittsburgh in 2 weeks time.
