Jones & Reed take podium spots.
Last weekend Hayden Jones raced the Moreton Bay Classic, held over 2 rounds starting at Pine Rivers and then Caboolture! "Round one at Pine Rivers and I ended up with 3rd, 2nd, 1st and 2nd, putting me in 3rd overall going into round 2 at Caboolture on the following day! Waking up to rain on the Sunday which forced the cancellation of racing. Monday was a public holiday in Queensland and racing was rescheduled, and a perfect day for racing. In my motos I placed 4th, 2nd and 3rd, semi I had a decent run and ended up in 3rd which put me through to the finals. I had 5th gate pick in the finals and ended up in lane 5 which gave me a good run into the first corner sling shooting into 4th and moved up another place heading into the last straight to cross the line in 3rd." Mille Reed travelled to Canberra for the ACT Titles held at Melba BMX Track. "Saturday started out decent with a 6th, another 6th in 14+ pro women, considering we only had 8 riders with the 8th rider being dropped. I was pretty unlucky to have got squeezed out in my 3rd moto to finish 8th which sadly meant I missed out on the final by 1 point. Sunday started out better but still only had 6 riders. I had to race up in 17-24 women as their wasn't enough to run a 16 girls age class and wasn't old enough for 17+ pro women. I came away with seconds all day, finished 2nd in the final. The whole weekend was great apart from Sundays weather which was windy and raining!"
